ARCHITECTURE: In a walking tour of the Kennebunks National Register Historic District you will see the evolution of architectural styles—Colonial, Federal, Queen Anne, Greek Revival and Italianate—in churches and homes built from the mid 1700s to the mid 1800s.

HAUNTED LIGHT HOUSE: Goat Island Light is rumored to be haunted and was the last manned lighthouse in Maine. It has been used as a security post when former President George Bush was in residence at his summer home. Many unexplained and mystical happenings are documented by the Kennebunk Conservation Trust. Ask about the faces which appear on the walls.

TAKE THE TRAIN TO THE BEACH IN MAINE: On June 23rd Kennebunkport rolls out new Atlantic Shoreline Trolley service connecting passengers on AmTrak's Downeaster station stop in Wells to all the attractions and amenities in southern Maine. New local service will connect adjacent Wells and Ogunquit with Famous Dock Square as well as provide free rides to the beaches and the shops in downtown.

FOOD: The White Barn Inn Restaurant in Kennebunkport, Maine, has been honored with a 5-Star rating in the Mobil Travel Guide 2006. The Relais Gourmand restaurant, part of the White Barn Inn, was one of only 15 restaurants in the U.S. to receive the coveted ranking. The Mobil Travel Guide inspects thousands of restaurants each year, with criteria including products, service and facilities considered in pin-point detail. The White Barn Inn Restaurant and Chef Jonathan Cartwright join such illustrious establishments as Jean Georges and Alain Ducasse in New York, Charlie Trotter's in Chicago, The Inn at Little Washington in Virginia, and French Laundry in Napa Valley.

MARINE ANIMAL REHABILITATION CENTER: The Marine Animal Rehabilitation Center is part of a network of centers authorized by the National marine Fisheries Service to rescue and rehabilitate stranded marine animals such as seals, sea turtles, porpoises and whales. The facility is open to the public and tour groups and is located on the University of New England campus in Biddeford.
