An historic farm known as Laudholm is now a center for coastal science, environmental learning, and land and water stewardship performed under the banner of the Wells National Estuarine Research Reserve.

The Wells Reserve works to expand knowledge of coasts and estuaries, engage people in environmental learning, and involve communities in conservation, all with a goal of protecting and restoring coastal ecosystems around the Gulf of Maine.

The Wells Reserve boasts...
* 7 miles of trails open every day from 7 am to sunset
* Guided programs for everyone "K thru gray"
* Exhibit areas in the Visitor Center and Maine Coastal Ecology Center

The work of the Wells Reserve and the care of its precious site are made possible by Laudholm Trust. Born from a kitchen-table conversation in 1978 and recognized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 1982, Laudholm Trust provides crucial monetary and in-kind services to the Wells Reserve.

Generous community support enables Laudholm Trust to be a reliable partner for the Wells Reserve and an advocate for historic preservation and coastal protection.

Laudholm Trust raises funds through...

* The annual support of its members
