Gene R. Libby, Timothy J. O’Brien and Gail P. Kingsley established Libby O’Brien Kingsley Champion, LLC, at 62 Portland Road, Suite 17 in Kennebunk, Maine, in 2007. The partners had previously practiced law together in the Kennebunk, Maine, office of a large Portland firm.
ABOUT THE FOUNDING PARTNERS:
GENE R. LIBBY has over 30 years of experience in civil and criminal litigation; he served as York County District Attorney, where he developed his trial experience, and his work has been featured in a number of national publications, from the American Bar Journal to Nature magazine. Mr. Libby has represented a diverse group of businesses and organizations, including the Boy Scouts of America, Catholic Charities of Maine, and York County Government, as well as individuals. He received his B. S. degree, summa cum laude, from the University of Southern Maine and his J. D. from the University of Maine School of Law.
TIMOTHY J. O'BRIEN’s practice areas include Labor and Employment, Sports Law and Hospitality. For more than 20 years, he has represented management on a wide variety of labor and employment issues including wrongful termination and discrimination claims, wage claims, RICO claims, as well as advising clients on health, safety, wage and labor law issues. He also has expertise in sports-related law and has advised college and university athletic departments across the country on issues ranging from Title IX to drug testing. A resident of Kennebunk, Mr. O’Brien is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame (A. B.) and the New England School of Law (J. D.).
GAIL P. KINGSLEY has concentrated her practice in the areas of estate planning, estate administration and taxation for 20 years. She represents clients in Maine and Massachusetts. She is a resident of Kennebunkport. Ms. Kingsley received her BS in Business Administration from the University of Connecticut and her law degree from Boston College Law School (JD cum laude). She earned an advanced law degree (LLM in Taxation) at Boston University Law School. Ms. Kingsley is a frequent lecturer on the subjects of Estate Planning and Estate Taxation.

Gail Kingsley serves on the board of directors of Avesta Housing of Portland, Maine, and is a former member of the Board of Directors of the Wellesley Cooperative Bank.
